4runner, rear side windows dismantle

I recently purchased a 1st gen 4runner and I keep noticing water pooling at the base of those sliding windows on the fiberglass top. I managed to get in there a little bit and 1/2 pull out the rubber sealer around the window and notice some serious corrosion in the corners.

Is there a way to pull off those metal panels that are around the window? maybe to clean out a drain hole or figure out a fix.

I couldn't find any clips to pop it off. Maybe their hidden well.

Cheers.

mine are bad also .

the best thing to do is find a good set of windows from another truck and switch them out .. the whole window assembly with good seals ..

The black trim is screwed on i believe .. you have to take the window off .. cut the silicone material off from the inside then pull the whole window assembly off , trim is screed on from the inside .

deathcougar posted the part numbers for the seals somewhere on here .. i cant remember where though .

You need to remove the windows to get the trim off, then clean out the drain holes in the window channel so they can drain. The windows are held in place with butyl tape.
