4hi whine and jerk

Hello everyone. Just wondering if what I'm experiencing is normal. Unsure about what transmission i have i believe the 156? Anyway I've got a truck with about 160xxx miles. IFS and ba trailmaster lift approximately 4" with 33x12.50x15s. While driving in 4high on snow covered roads I'm experiencing a loud whine and sometimes it'll start jerking back and forth. Is this normal?

I'm having this same problem in 4hi. The only difference is that instead of a whining noise, its more of a clunking or popping noise.

It is not normal. If the 4 wheel is working right, you almost wont even know it is engaged. They dont have it lifted so high that it is effecting your pinion angles do you? Plenty of fluid in the transfer case?

Year and engine size information would help.

Not sure the lift is high enough that it would be so off alignment
