Red face

Yes quit but how??

Or do you mean you managed to get stuck??

Like high centered maybe??

In the ditch perhaps??

Then blame it on the vehicle.

I guess one could say in that case the 4 wheel drive quit.

It still drove it just went to two wheel drive. I tried it since, not for long, and it worked.

Again, details on what kinda truck you own would help, sheesh.

How do you know it dropped out of 4wd? Did the light go out, or do you KNOW it stopped driving the front wheels? Or (with an ADD system) did the driver's side CV shaft simply become uncoupled?

We need more info.

I reread the original entry and seen how little info I posted, sorry bout that. It must have been then beer that night lol. Anyway it is a 93 pickup with v6. Wife bought new in 93 and always been a garage, I think. The problem is as I said about when I drove it and when it happened the 4wd light went off and I had two wheel drive traction. Thanks for the help so far and anymore questions let me know.

First off, your avatar is freaking me right the hell out.

Second, if there was no sound or feel of catastrophic breakage, and it's working again now, I'd suspect a vacuum line is cracked or loose. Switch to manual hubs and don't look back.

I had this happen twice and found it was the ADD system failing. Get manual hubs and eliminate this source of worry.
