4 link Rear Suspension

Looking between 2 kits at this point. The McNeil kit http://www.mcneilracinginc.com/off-r...cation/4-link/

and the addicted offroad kit http://www.addictedoffroad.com/index...roducts_id=110

I read over both, they both seem to include the same parts needed. Just curious what would be the deciding factor other than price. I want QUALITY over anything. This will be a truck driven 100 miles a day on average minus weekends and escapades.

The purpose of this truck is to built a daily driver for commuting that will be abused on the weekend of course with caution due to it will be a daily driver.

The McNeil kit comes with a trussed housing welded and everything, as well as trailing arms. Everything I would need minus shocks.

Addicted does not include trailing arms, axle housing, and says it would need possible extreme modification to the bed including but not limited to total removal.

The typical weekend outing for me will include rail road track jumps. Dirt track courses at local tracks, slight mud meaning max a descent puddle due to only having 2wd limitation and a lot of trail riding at the least. Trail riding in FL so don't worry, it isn't what the normal trail riding is. Just woods and some hills with an occasional log in the road

Chaos has trailing arms too.

Spring under axle (sua) can get up to around 18" of travel.

Got fab skills, a welder and a tubing bender?

I can design, good with physics and math and can always have my buddy actually fab it. I am in college for engineering. Triple majoring in mechanical, aerospace, and industrial in 6 years... no time to really do the work myself if I have to fab. But always up for a chore.

Why do you ask?

cause it will take a lot of fab and welding to do a long travel caged offroad truck. not to mention the money factor.

that's why i mentioned the long travel section on tacoma world, lots of pics, ideas and shops that sell long travel product.

the front 2 or 4wd, is pretty much a given, pick a kit and go with it. the back you have many choices, trailing arms, cantilever or spring under axle.

Can you relay the pros and cons of either of those choices. I knew about Spring under and trailing arms but not cantilever. I will check it out. Thank you.
