4.10 vs. 4.30? Any difference?

If it were me and the price was cheap, I would go for it. But, I would be setting the gears myself. IF you need to have someone else do the install and you cannot find a smokin' deal there too, I'd pass.

I definately noticed a difference off the line and in second gear (running 30-inchers), but nothing significant beyond that.

If you are only getting the ring and pinion gears, and plan to take it somewhere for the install, probably not worth it. If you are getting fully built up differentials, sure. I went from 4.10's to 4.30's when I found a e-locker rear third at a wreck yard with 4.30 gears. Two cars down was another 4runner with a 4.30 front. I got both for $300.

make sure your front diff uses 4.30's as well. if its early ifs..i dont think they use 4.30's or are available from the aftermarket. taco/3rd gen runners use a reverse rotation front 4.30 while pre taco uses a standard rotation front R&P...
