3zve fuel injectors and code 14 question?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/42357420@N06/7235414676/
I am trying to tack down an electrical bug on my 3vze fuel delivery. I have tested or replaced wires (new & resitance tests), distributor (resistance), I have spark. ECM (continuity and/or voltage to grounds, injectors, igniotor), salvaged coil and ignitor, new tps salvaged AFM.
When I removed the plenum last week (when it was running fine) I got some coolant on the wire harness, which is already in a bad way. That area of the harness is suspect in the electrical issues I'm experiencing. I think I'm having a short out or other no signal issued during operation. Yes, the truck runs briefly, like 2 seconds then it just stops for no reason. I've made a cursory review of visible areas around the drivers side fuel rail and found what you see in the picture. That's the #2 fuel injector with what looks like exposed wire. I tested them for voltage with the key on and they do light up my test light. But the one in the pictures has some exposed wire where it was kinked. Is that something that could cause code 14(ignitor not input to ecm for 6 consecutive ignition)? Is there a way to test these connections before I start ripping the harness apart?
thanks for your help.

That injector connection is bad, but not the cause of your ignitor no signal to ECM. Test your wire connections from the ignitor to the ecm, for continuity, and replace as needed. I would recommend also buying injector connector pigtails and replacing all of them while you have it apart. See link in my signature for the FSM, and use the wiring schematics to check correct wiring from ecm to ignitor and distributor.
