3vze starts dies in 10 seconds..wont restart
1991 4-runner giving trouble code 14, 12. I reset the codes now it's only giving 14. Thursday afternoon, it started at work, I got about a mile down the road and it died sitting at a light. A buddy of mine was behind me so we pulled it into a parking lot and started doing the normal checks...fuses, vacuum hoses etc. So he was trying to turn it over and I took the oil cap off to see if the cams where moving. as soon as i pulled the cap it fire up...weird, coincidence? Runs fine the 20 miles home on interstate. Next morning starts up and dies in about 10 seconds, then it wouldn't restart. Same thing last night, now this morning it wont start at all. Checked the codes, 14 and 12 reset them now just 14. in the last year I have replaced the timing belt, ignition coil, distributor cap and rotor, plugs, wires, battery, head gasket.
Truck was running fine untill this happened now warning. The only thing is it's been about 6500 miles since last oil change...but that shouldnt have anything to do with it. I'm stuck...

Have you tried your oil cap to see if it made a difference again? Otherwise try removing your fuel cap. If you hear a sucking sound, then your fuel cap isn't allowing air to enter the gas tank, and the fuel pump isn't strong enough to pump against a vacuum.

I checked the resistance on the high-tension cable, and it was quite bad, so i sanded the ends a little and it started up immediatley, so I'm thinking it may be that wire..gonna go get a new one ....
UPDATE: It's not the high-tension cable. There's a short or a lose cable in the plug going to the ignition module. I can wiggle it around while turning the engine over and it will start, then stop if I touch the wire harness by it..I'm gonna try to find the problem, any ideas? Could it be the actual ignition module?
