3vze Regrounded Crankshaft, Rod and Main Bearing Sizes?
I am doing a rebuild on my 3vze 4runner engine. I came across an issue today when I got the crankshaft back from the machine shop. The issue is that I do not know what size main and rod bearings to get. The only type of paper work I got back was a tag that the machine shop left on the crankshaft and the only thing that seems to mentions measurements is "R-010 M-010". My only geuss on this is that both the rod and main journals were grounded down .010 of a centimeter...? milimeter...? inch??? and to make things more confusing is that when I try to look on ebay for 3vze rod and main bearing the sellers state that they have .25 .50 and 1.00 mm oversized bearings. So which one do I need? Did the macine shop mess up? Please, to the people of yotatech, help!

Hey guy since your in Texas I will bet the shops measurements are in inch's. Bet they took .010" off both the rod and main journals. So you need bearings that are .010" over size. Ask the shop they either have em or can get em I'm sure.

Heres what you need to do:
1. Call Ted at ENGNBLDR.COM at (503) 257-7947 9am-4pm Pacific M-F
2. Tell him what you still need to complete your rebuild
3. Sit back and relax(knowing you got the best price on the best parts), wait 2 days until you get your box from Ted, then install.
And no, I dont work for him - For reference, there are quite a few rebuild threads on here right now, mine, TNRabbit's, Snapon's, and I am sure there are others I am missing.

You will read nothing but praises about Ted, I didnt use him but I am one of MANY build up threads you can read up on here. I had never touched a Toyota 5 months ago and just completed a full top end build (more then a rebuild) thanks to this site
