3VZE - Lubricate Speedometer Cable

I'm trying to lube the speedometer cable but I don't know how to take it out. I've got it removed from my instrument panel and from the transmission but I can't feed it through the housing. How do you do it?

You don't. As in...the cable won't come out of the housing/sleeve because it has fittings crimped on both ends. One of them is easily seen, the other isn't(but trust me...it's there). And that's why the cable won't slide very far in either direction.

Okay. Well I shot lubricant down both ends of the cable for a least an hour or two but it's still bouncing. I think I've seen people say that it's not instantaneous that you need to run it for a while so that it can reach all of the cable.
