Glad this has been helpful... It was strictly an experiment, but if I were to do it all over again? I wouldn't. I'd put the time and money towards a 3.4 swap and just do the same idea with the 3.4

I got my headers for $75 bucks so I couldnt help myself lol. That coupled with I already have my highflow cat and borla muffler installed and I am in the middle of a trans swap I figured why not. My 3.0 is has been very well maintained by the p/o, and Ive been on top of things since. But alas I know its only a matter of time. I saw a 3.4 at pick a part today for $600 and it got my mind running...

yeah, if youre getting headers for dirt cheap, then yeah. it might be worth it if you can track down gaskets and such for it.

but like I said, no way would I ever do it again and I have a 3vz again now. I spent probably 1000 bucks on this exhaust setup, and sure its the best of the best for the 3vz, but I can get a 3.4 for 1000 bucks.

But like I said, I'd love to drop headers on a 3.4, no cat, o2 MILs and a sweet muffler.

sounds like you have an exhaust leak somewhere.

Bump

I wrote a review of the same exhaust after a couple years of driving it.

Here's the link:

In short, I recommend it.

I suspect that a crossover delete tied to a proper cat back will accomplish >85% of what the full system with headers will do...

LCE sells their (all of these are mandrel bends) Y pipe for $200 (have to email them, not alone in their catalog) plus their full cat back, excluding cat, for $400. And the only custom would be down pipes from headers to Y pipe. The cat back and Y pipe can probably be reused with a 3.4. I think I'd enlarge the join portion of they Y and run a larger diameter from there through the exit of the cat, but otherwise, there's no reason you can't keep the LCE catback w/ a 3.4 IMO. Sort of a dual purpose if you will. Still on my to do, but that's my strategy...
