Hi my 1994 toyota pickup 3.slow needs a cat. The dealership says that i need a special number or something for the cat i need to get. But wont any 3.slow cat work for my truck? Thanks

Remove it, gut it, weld it back on.
Or go to a autoparts store, not a stealership. and see what they say.. You could always try putting a high flow cat on from magnaflow

I removed mine and put a straight pipe in there. In Hawaiib we are lucky no smog check!

The way the Toyota Factory parts computer is set up it goes off your VIN and tells them you need Toyota part # for your vehicle.

Go to any web sites that sell them check the part # for your vehicle see if they have any foot notes saying except year ** or something like that.

Should not be all that uncommon.

Just try and stay legal for what emissions laws your state has

Hm yeah i was looking at some high flow magnaflows and thats what ill probably get one of those. Im in Arizona so idk how strict the laws are down here

The one I linked to above meets federal requirements. They have one that meets CA requirements but it's like $250.

There are no emissions checks where I live but I hated the sound of the exhaust without a cat.

i got one out of summit racing for like $50 and with after market cheapo muffler and some straight pipe & adapters ect. welded together a new exhaust for about $200. could have clamped it but truck takes a beating and stumps would have ripped it apart.

being outside of cali you can weld on any old cat. Summit cheapo is the best bet. Most muffler shops can weld a bung on for the temp sensor.

Cali has to have approved converters for the smog check or you will fail

oh ok so no cat comes with the sensor? If not, how much would a sensor be?
