3rd member swap question
My truck is a 1993, 22re, 5 speed with factory 4.10 diffs. (pickup)
I'm thinking about swapping in a pair of 3rd members taken from a 1991, V6, 4runner with 4.56 gearing.
The front 3rd member, based on my research, is identical.
The Rear, based on my research is slightly different but still interchangable.
Here's the problem:
Aussie Lockers appears to make a locker for the rear of a 93 4cyl pickup, but NOT for a 91 6cyl 4-runner..... and I want to install an aussie locker while the 3rd member is out.
Am I out of luck or will the locker for a 8" standard fit?

You my friend are out of luck. Aussie has been putting that off for years. Your best bet would be to find a 4cyl rear in the gearing of choice or get a lockrite locker.

Just get the Lockright, it is damn near identical to the Aussie and the price difference is not that much.
I have the Lockright in the front and rear of my '89 V6, I love them. The one in the back talks to me all the time driving around town, keeps me company.

This just came into my email a couple minutes ago, I'm not sure if they're to be trusted...

I suppose I could go aussie front and leave the rear open in the off chance they will one day make the V6 rear....
I just have the (probably misplaced) fear of stuff binding up and popping and not being able to turn a tight turn on the trail with the front locked up.

ALL TALK NO ACTION/PART
In the front your turning radius is cut in half but that's what reverse is for and if your not useing it on the road you will have no problem as long as you don't lock your hubs , with the A.D.D. system I think as long as you don't shift into 4wd it will be just like manual hubs but I have no experience with the A.D.D. set up I did manual hubs at the same time as the front locker

I would not want to drive it on pavement in snow in 4x4. But, I'm in coastal Cali, snow is a non-issue around here.
Best case, all around, I would want an ARB up front. But, I don't have that kind of coin right now, so, the Lockright will do for now.
In the rear, I find the Lockright talking to me on the road. Anytime I turn tight and get on the skinny pedal, it barks at me. You learn to coast though most tight turns, maybe light pedal after entering the turn once it is ratcheting. Also, it turns heads even when coasting, as it goes thunk, thunk, thunk back there, ratcheting around.
On the highway, I don't notice a thing, I just drive it.
I will believe it when I see it on the V6 Aussie, they are just not in that market.
