3rd gen pickup 3 spoke steering wheel controls

I put a 3rd gen steering wheel in my 87 pickup, can someone tell me what each button does?

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f126...pdated-209977/

I am guessing the far right one is up/down speed adjustment.

not sure about the others

I am hoping to use the buttons to control a aftermarket radio

the far right "down" control is to set your cruise speed and the little one is your "cancel" button far left turns your cruise on and off and sorry but i dont remember what the "up" control does i dont use it and my writing is worn off as well.....tonight when my girlfriend gets off work i can look at hers and let ya know. hers actually still has the writing hope this helped.

thanks

I am guessing that the right down is set and decrease speed and right up is increase speed.

So now I wonder, can I use the buttons to control a radio.
Left button - change between systems
right small button - change channels
large right - volume up/down

Nice Job

Nice write-up, I always wondered if the 2nd gen 4runner steering wheel would retrofit into the 1st gen 4runner.

So just to be clear, it looks like you move the horn contact ring from original wheel to the new wheel, drill the recesses for the turn signal cancels, fabricate the connection wire to the horn button and that was it?

How do you plan to get the steering wheel controls through to the 87's column?

That is about it, the hardest part is drilling the holes for the turn signal cancel.

This part I have't done yet, and not sure how it will work out. Might need to go back to the junk yard and see what Toyota did.
