3rd 4runner drivetrain in 2nd gen runner?
I am looking at all angles for doing in 4x4 and 3.4 engine swap. I currently have a 93 2x4 with a 3.0. I am looking out for a donor 3rd gen 4runner for my engine swap, but could I look for one that has 4x4 and swap everything over? Would the trans, transfer case, and all the other 4x4 equipment bolt onto my ride?

You can swap the 3.4 in, but you need to get the trans, tcase, front diff, spindles axles and hubs off of another 2nd gen 4runner or pu.
Any 3.4 will work, be it 4runner, taco, or tundra.

Yes. 3rd Gen 4Runner uses left side drop transfer case and 2nd Gen uses right side drop. I don't know where you're located but I have most of the doner parts available. Off Road Solutions is probably the place to talk to about all the custom parts you would need to complete the swap

What he said. The 2nd gen has the transfer case output on the passenger side, whereas the 3rd gen outputs down the driver's side. Could you swap all the components over? With enough time and money, anything is possible. My advice, though, is it would probably be far more cost effective to either buy a 2nd gen 4x4 and swap motors, or buy a complete 3rd gen and save yourself a whole bunch of headaches. Swapping in a 3.4 isn't cheap. Trust me, been there done that. Swapping everything over, including t-case, front diff, etc, etc...you will never, ever see your money back out of the project.
