3days and $20.. hello new toy
this 91 4runner was a v6 (3vze) 2WD, autmatic.. basically the worst of everything. non-running and high milage but the body and chassis were great.. not a speck of rust anywhere except some speckles in the chrome bumper.
so i traded a computer for this.. sold the 3vze for $100. it sat for half a year 'cause i was busy with work but last week i was motivated so in 2 days i made it a 22re/5sp 4x4 with some extra pieces i had sitting in my parts vehicles and voila!
i spent another half a day prettying it up with the brush guard, tires and spiffing up the interior.
so my only cost was $20 for antofreeze and brake fluid. i kept the IFS (converted it to 4wd tho) instead of a straight axle since this will be more of a daily driver for my wife instead of a wheeler.. though now that we have a different DD i can start modding my 1gen truck which has been my driver since i was 17 -its due for some love.

thanks zombie. this is the first 4door i've owned and i must say, i like it. the ride is MUCH smoother than my '82 too 
forgot the mention: the 33's are temporary. when i was pullign the engine i couldn't fit under the car it sat so low on the dinky little 235/75's so... i plan on 265/75/16 which will be the same height but much narrower so they don't rub.
future plans are a roof rack, custom rear bumper and a little lift on the rear to cure the butt-sag.
EDIT:
not hard. the only fab work was the motor mounts which i just did with a 2'x8' plate of 1/4 steel that i bolted ontop of the old mounts to connect the two. you'll need a bellhousing to match the 22re or else thange the transmission at the same time.
the alternator and power steer and fuel pump/lines are the same. crossmember bolts are located in the same place.
wiring wasn't nearly as bad as i was expecting; the engine harness disconects from the dash harness right by the ecu and has all the same components.. you just have to remove the pins from one side of the conectors and push them into correct plugs... some tracing is required as the colors don't always match up (most of them do tho) the repair manual helps. --if its soemthig you're goign to try then let me know an di can post photos of the wiring and the correct pinout of the harness connection.

hey how hard is it to convert the 3v to 22re???

Better then your build threads, with a lot of posts and nothing happening. 
I agree, 2wd to 4wd conversion, 3.0 to 22re swap in one thread.
or it didn't happen and you bought a 22re 4wd truck.

sorry. given time i'll learn the ropes here and learn to work at a slower pace.
unlike some, i'm not obsessed with cameras and i hate distractions when i'm in the middle of something... i just DO it; tell stories later. -But if you can still see in the pics i posted that it has v6 emblems front and back.
i'll try to remember to snap a few more pics for the incredulous when i go back under it to finish weld my brackets for the front differential but for now its back to my less interesting job for me.
