33 Inchers on an 88' 4Runner?

Would I be able to fit 33 inch tires on an 88' 4Runner with only a lift in the back? I was planning on getting a 3 inch lift in the back and I want to know if the tires will fit?

Eegads!!! Search, man....search!!

Depends on how wide they are. 10.50's will fit without lift, but you may have to hammer the pinch weld down under the fender so's not to rub on tight turns.

I'm not 100% sure about the tires, I would like to have 12.5 inch wide tires though ( http://peterborough.kijiji.ca/c-cars...QAdIdZ57591605 ). I'm on a small budget, and I dont want to have a tall truck, but I want to eliminate the rear end sagg. I think I'm going to get some 3 inch lift leaf springs from Downey Off-Road for the back ( http://www.downeyoff-road.com/Suspen.../1986-95.html# ). Is there a better place that I should be going? I live in Ontario and want to minimize shipping costs.

if you are just doing some lift in the rear to fix the sag then just stick with the 31's. But you can fit 32x11.5 or 33x10.5 if you want...

Has anyone tried the Downey Off-Road 3 inch lift springs before? Do you guys have any other recommendations? And would the 33x12.5 15s fit reasonably?

You need a lift to run those sized tires.

The rear will need at least 1.5" and the front will need 1.5" or so and you will need to pound down the seam at the fender.

You need to lift your truck, period in order to run the tires properly. Be it a body or suspension lift.

Not wanting to hijack the thread or anything...but the pictures of tools are missing fingers. A buddy and I went into Rona and did the picture of the hand in each tool. We were gonna make up flash cards for the emergency room but never got around to it...wonder where I put those pics?

edit: wait that last picture just loaded....forget about the fingers.....

This is what 3" Downey springs and 33x10.5 on a 7" rim with 4" backspace looks like. If I had 33x12.5 I would want more lift to keep from rubbing.

Awe man....you're not offended, are you? I am just kidding. Plus, the joke is not really about you at all....or you're queries. A few of us on the forum have an ongoing "comedy exchange" and it sort of floats around from thread to thread. So, apologies if you took offense. I meant no malice.

Here's what I'm talkin' about. Maybe you'll have a few laughs....or think we're just strange. That's okay, too.

Your truck looks good. I like the look of 33's with lift much better anyway.

Thanks Matthew.

I think it looks better with some lift too. I can still get a little rub in the rear at full stuff but I have a set of SR5 alloys with 4.75" backspace to install.

I may also do a 1" 4Crawler body lift for a little extra clearance in front too.
