33 12.5 15

I have an 89 toyota pickup and It has a 3 inch body lift and 33 10.5 15 tires on it and I want to know if i can put 33 12.5 15 tires on it with out them rubbing or anything.... also it has manual hubs I was wondering if that would make a difference in the wheels that a get.

i'm running 33x12.50 BFG's on 15x8 wheels with a 3" lift on my '89 4runner, and i would rub a little while wheeling until minor trimming. i know you have the newer body. but i hope it helps you.

the wheels and tires that im buying from my friend look just like yours.... do you have manual hubs??

If I may ask, why are you going to a wider tire? you may find you run into a lot of steering problems (breakage) with a 12.5" wide tire.

My tires on it right now are almost shot and my buddy has some tires and wheels that were on his 99 yota that was recalled and crushed so he said he would sell them to me for 450 and the tires only have like 3k on them... its just alot cheaper then buying 4 new tires

After all the crap with pre '95 trucks rusting, WTH didn't Toyota think to do a better rust-proofing job with the Taco frames. Why oh why?

I have a stock 1992 4Runner, would putting 33 12.50 R15 on really put more stress on the steering to the point where it could break??

I was considering getting 33 10.50's but I like the wider look better.

I ran 33x12.50x15 on my 94 stock no problem just folded the pinch weld over

If you're going for the look, then I'd say forget about it. The extra width is going to rub if you don't lift it. Now if you were going for function, then do a couple inches of body lift, or some BJ spacers or something. My 4Runner rubs with 33-12.50's and 1 inch body lift.

I heard that the recall frames were built by Dana and Toyota was making them pay for the recall. The 4Runners were built in Japan by Toyota, no problem there. I don't know if that's a load or not......

one thing to consider about tires...

yes, the wider tires do look good on our trucks in my opinion, but have you thought about how your gas mileage will suffer??

i went from 31x10.5s to 32x11.5s and lost 3mpgs overall... im down to 16...
consider how much more of the tread will be hitting the ground and how much more power your truck is going to waste pushing a tire size that it really doesnt need...

you'll prolly be down to 14 without gearing, but then if you do regear, itll be another 400 dollars on top of a new set of tires that you just bought...

now, im not made of money, and my truck is my daily driver, so i stuck with the most cost effective set-up for me...

I have 33x12.5x15 tires on my truck with 7" of lift (3 body, 4 suspension) and I wish it was stock!! lol

I bet it's 50+ pounds of rim and tire on each corner. I bought mine the way it is and regeared already, or I would have never done it.

mine rub with 4 inches of lift i folded the pinch welds now they just barely rub, but for some reason i get better gas mileage witht the bigger tires and stock gears i get about 25 mpg on the highway with a 22r and about 18 in the city i had 31's on my truck before, i like the width of the tires most of all especially when aired down they are like suction cups the roll

I'm going to do a bj spacer 1.5" and some longer coils in the rear when I put the 33's on.

Mine is also a daily driver so I do want to get the best gas mileage out of it and still be able to go on the traill sometimes.

How much Mpg would it lose with 33 10.50's?

Does anyone have pics of their runner with 33 10.50's?

nice double post 6 hrs apart...

depends on your stock gearing...

like i said, i lost ~3mpgs going one inch larger and wider...
also depends on your tire pressure, brand of tires, wear rating and whatnot...

just do you homework and follow the rule of gearing...

31" = 4.56
32"-33" = 4.88
35"-37" = 5.29
38"+ =5.71

I had 31-10.50's and I usually got around 18-19MPG. Now with 33-12.50's, I'm getting 13-15MPG.

lol... im feelin ya... just goes to show, every inch taller and inch wider you get you loose mpgs... unless you regear...

sounds like you need 4.88s...
