302!!

My buddy's got a ford 302 with a three speed (4th ovedrive) tranny and only wants 400 bucks it runs and has edlebrock headers. its clean and could use some tuning but thats about it. i was wondering if this would fit with same or close to the same mods as a chevy 350. any help with the fitment or what tranny and transfer case to use and difficulty would be great. thanks.

It'll work with the right modifications. Might as well do a SAS at the same time, too.

Sure it would fit. One thing about a ford is the distributor is in the front of the engine, unlike a chevy being in the rear.

Making installation/clearance much easier.

and i would do any mods needed to get the ford in over the chevy. it will last 10 times longer, and the ford stuff is lighter.
