BJ spacers, 31" tires. Need the spacers so I can run my chains up front. Found a set for cheap locally. I can't remember if decreasing (?) the backsetting caused rubbing.

I can't trim the UCA as is its the bulge, not the lip which is within 1/4" of the tire at full droop. I my chains just fit on a flat road, but that chancing it too much as I run the chains off road as well.

Never seen a 3/4" wheel spacer. I've seen big washer 3/4" thick but I would think you would need longer wheel studs.

Moving the wheel out tends to make it rub worse when you turn.

Id go with a 1" spacer and you shouldnt rub with only 31 I ran 31s with 2.5" backspacing and didnt rub

I might go with 1/4". I want as little change as is still functional. That should be just enough. Should be cheaper too.

The seller emailed be back and said they were the type that simply slide over the studs- which means replacing the studs with longer ones.

I went down to Lordco (parts store in BC) and bought some 1/4" spacers for around $10 I think. Chinese made cheap cast aluminum, casting irregularities and all. Filed the bumps flat down. They look like they'll work. I'm glad I'm only using these as wheel spacers, at least they're not on something safety-critical like a cast aluminum door stop.

the holes for the studs look bigger than the stud O.D. is this a problem, or does the hub locate teh spacer?

I put them on, now there's almost an inch of clearance between the sidewall and the UCA. They look really bogus and have about an 1/8" of tolerance between the hub O.D. and the spacer I.D. I bolted the wheels back on and did up to 100km/h (60mph) with no apparent vibration. They're cast aluminum (thus light) and near the hub, so I don't think its an issue.

With 1/4" spacers, the wheels studs have enough thread to turn the lug nuts about 9 times... so plenty long enough.

They're still ridiculous though... they look homemade.

31x10.5r15 on stock steal wheels. No rubbing, but I haven't flexed at all yet.

To be honest, I really dislike the spacers, the are super cheap looking and when one wheel goes into a pothole, puddle or snow, it pulls the steering harder it seems. I think its cause I effectively lengthened the lever from the wheel to the steering axis. I think these stay on until snow is gone and don't need chains, then I think up a better solution.
