3.4 sourced. Lemon?

So I've been waiting for a god deal on a 3.4 and finally found one on CL for $800 with only 115k miles. Go to guys house to lay half $$ down to secure the motor, and check out the goods. What I find is this...

Complete air box with tube to throttle body gone with what I'm assuming the MAF with it...

Main wire harness with the plugs to ecu and body harness that goes thru firewall is cut 1/3 the way through in one section about 8" from connector ends...

Fuze box completely gone...

Don't know what they are for, but a few relays or little black sensors (that reside on driver side fender) wires were cut about about 3" back from them, what looks like for no reason...

I'm at a loss... Do I take the motor and deal with the issues, or wait, for a little less heartache when it comes time to get the thing going...

I would offer the persona lot less. If they bite, go for it as it will be worth your while. I wouldn't pay that kind of money for that condition though.

Maybe if it was super cheap..200-300..and you had no other options in the entire world.

Way too many 3.4s out there to settle for a pile of poorly assembled garbahj.

Red face

Well I paid $1800.00 for one with all the parts and even some extras brought right to the shop.

That I heard running.

Only you know what can be had close to you .

Then it also depends just how bad you think you need to get your swap done

Well, he said he'd go with $650. I'm gonna chew on it for a day and see how it settles. Just trying to justify all the overhead I'll need for replacement bits n pieces, along with the could be's like clutch/flywheel/timing belt, etcetera.

Haha, I talked to that guy like last week about that motor. Was interested in buying the whole truck from him until he told me about the missing parts in the motor which was why I was interested in from buying the whole truck, also said the truck was like cut in half or something too? Kinda drove me away tbh. I was looking for a solid main harness so would just have to make a dash harness. Let me know if you pick it up though! I'd be interested in the swap!

Yup. That's the guy. Cherry picker is holding the back of the cab up. Still a little apprehensive about what that motor may need, but I've got time...

I bought an entire 4runner with 160k for $600. If there's one thing you learn from the 3.4 swap section is to buy an entire vehicle unless it's absolutely not an option.
