3.0l Improvement
I Have A 1989 Toy With A 3.0l V-6 And I Was Dissappointed With The Amount Of Power That The Engine Had. I Was Stoked To Find A Shop In Northern Cal. That Produces A Custom Offroad Cyclone Cold Air Intake That I Purchased For My Truck. They Also Offer A Adapter Plate That Is A Velocitystack For A 3 Inch Setup With A Cone Filter On The End. I Purchased The Velocity Stack With A Built In Cyclone And Put It On My Truck Made A World Of Difference. I Then Thought If This Plate Make This Much Difference The Tube Would Make Alot Of Difference As Welll. I Got Them Both The Plate, tube, and Mounting Brakets For $150. I Was Very Pleased With The Intake. I Would Advise Other 3.0l Engine Owners To Do The Same It Made My Truck Fun To Drive Again. If You Have Any Questions Or Want Their Info Write Me I Will Give It To You.

A Cold Air Intake Makes A Difference
Thats Would Do It. Make Sure Whatever You Do Get A Cold Air Intake. I Was Pleased With The Difference And If You Can Get One That Comes With A New Tube To Hook Up To The Throttle Body.

Don't take it the wrong way man. The reason everyone thought it was spam is because of the fact that guys have hundreds and some thousands into that motor with little to know results. maybe 10-20 horsepower. I mean if you got some gains, great. By all means tell us about it. I am partial to dyno sheets when it comes to these motors. So if you have the desire to dyno to see how much more power you got, share it with us! It would make some us feel better about throwing down some cash if there was proof that it actually made more power.

WHAT THE HELL!! why is everybody hatin on j dawg? ok, i get it, the 3.0 doesn't impress the die hard "yota" off roader. yes the 3.4 L is night and day, no ? bout it. but who in this day of economics, has 5000 dollars to throw one in, and for what? maybe a 50 hp gain! hmmm.... 5000 for maybe 50 horses or 150 for 10- 20 hp. i say i'll keep my 3.0 for now and do what i can to make it better(even if it is a little bit) i say thank you j dawg for letting us not so rich yota die hards in on this info!

well ive had 3 vehicles with a k&n cold air intake, And you guys can bash all you want i did notice a difference. Plus it gives a great sound i was getting an extra 15km out of a tank with the civic and about 21km in the v8 dakota. And i got my genuine K&N kit off ebay motors for no more then 130$ for all 3 vehicles. But atleast get a good company lol..

$ 5000... whatever... I will have enough SAVED UP to start my 3.4swap in Jan. and it gonna cost under $2900. I have also read about others that have completed it cheaper. It is all about saving your money for something you want.
Yes I will agree that a "the under hood, in hot engine bay, cold air intake" will provide you with a little more power because... anyone.. anyone.. bueller... bueller... it is a less restrictive air flow compared to your stock air box.

you seem very sure that is going to cost under 2900 bucks. I know it is possible to do, but things can come up that could easily push that over. just wondering how you plan to keep it under 2900 bucks.

The shop name is J&J Custom Perfromace. I am going to dyno my truck on Thursday and will get back to all of you with the dyno results. Keep you KNN I will take my custom intake over a knn all day. The KNN for the 3.0 is worthless. I experienced more power and mileage with a custom one made for my truck.
