Angry 3.0 V6 91 pickup Clutch install help

So im doing the clutch on my 91 pick-up with the 3.0 and i would like to know if i have to REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ( Remove the 3 nuts, exhaust pipe and gasket from the exhaust manifold) to get the tranny out As the FSM states.

But they are rusted on and striped i have sprayed them with PB for 2 days and i need to get it done to day. As for i have work in the morning. That is the only thing holding me up. if i don't have to remove it that would be nice.

Yes i have a tranny jack & Pilot Bearing Puller

Any help or tips would be nice. thank you

Gonna go back and give it a shot. will check back in few

i just changed the clutch on my 94 v6 and i never had to touch the exhaust. there is plenty of room to get to all the tranny bolts to remove the tranny and change the clutch. good luck

Just changed mine too and never touched the exhaust or the front diff. Not sure if removing it would help anyway.

Seconded (third?)... All I did was disconnect front ds from diff, rear ds from Tcase, Tcase crossmember from frame, ONE exhaust support from the bellhousing... then I unbolted the transmission + bellhousing and took it out. PS Taking off the front skid plate allows "easy" access to some starter bolts that also go through the bellhousing.

Good luck, don't forget to clean out the bellhousing and lube up the clutch fork pivot points before you put it back together!
