The V6 is a belt.

Go download the FSM on here. It will tell you what you need to do. Also, SEARCH! Lots of threads on this topic.

you should have let him try to put a chain on it LOL!!

since you're just doing the belt, it's a little bit more tricky..but since i pulled my heads and everything off the block to be sent to the machine shop i didn't care how everything was positioned and such..

but i agree..download the FSM for you're year and you'll be golden!

My first response is:

How do you know you need to replace the timing chain, or rather, timing belt?

Put on the timing kit & not just the belt while you're in there, might as well put on a new water pump too since it's right there & it's a bit of a pita to get to all of it. The trickiest part is the tensioner & if you make a little "grenade pin" for it; it's not that big of a deal.
