3,0 problems

HI There, I just put in a different 3.0 in my 1994 4x4. The motor ran great in donor vehicle. I started it up and it idles smooth when i rev it up some it acts like missing a little and engine light comes on. If i shut it off and restart check engine light is off till i rev it up a little then comes back on, Does this sound like maybe a vacuum problem? I did have to change out complete wiring harness and take off upper intake to do that. Just wondering if i miss placed one of the 100 hoses, had them labeled pretty good i thought.

I did check fire to each cylinder by pulling wires off one at a time each one changed idle just a little telling me that each one has spark and fuel. I hope that sounds right

pull the codes, they will tell you where to look, if you dont know how, jump the e1 & te1 teminals in the diagnostic port, turn the ignition to on and the engine light will flash in sequence giving you codes, if you cant interpret those search on here and you will find

How did you know what torques to use, without a manual?

That check engine light is there for a reason; your engine is trying to tell you what is wrong! Just follow the procedure to read it. http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...85diagnosi.pdf

The manual calls for a special service tool, which really does exist

But the rest of us just use a paperclip.

Let us know what you find out.

I would go over all emissions and electrical components verifying proper location and condition.

Ignition timing..?

Air Flow Meter fault..?

Throttle body fault..?

TPS fault..?

Exhaust system restrictions..?

Fuel system performance..?

Poor intake seals/gaskets.

Egr valve faulty and or opening too early on acceleration.
*Verify proper vacuum emissions hose routing.

Air intake restrictions...?
