3.0 misfiring after body swap
First off some history. 1989 Toy P/U 5spd SAS converted to 1992 4runner. I swapped the body of the 4runner onto the pickup frame. From the firewall forward on the 4runner had some body damage, so i used the front end of the p/u. when i had the front portion off of the frame and not yet welded to the cab, I herculined the engine bay fenders (rust control). I buttoned up everything yesterday and connected just the crucial electrical (everthing minus the interior switches and blower) Refilled the gas tank and started it. Started ok, but DEFINITELY missing on one cylinder. this motor ran PERFECT prior to project. Fresh rebuild about 15k ago. 183xxx currently. Why am I getting a misfire now? I checked the FSM and it points at the ignition circuit, Engine coolant temp sensor circuit, Volume airflow meter circuit, Injectors, and Cold start circuit. I dont have a Diagnostic tool for checking error codes either. Is it possible that the herculiner on the fender where some of the grounds are connected is preventing the circuit from completing? I know I need to do some diag. but anybodys 1st hand experience here would be great. Non newb to wheeling, wrenching and so on. just need some honest help here. Thanks
****Update*****
- checked trouble codes and its the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor signal.
*****Update*****
-replaced temp sensor, cleared code and still misfiring!!so on I go... any suggestions?
