3.0 lIFTERS

Hi guys, got the heads off my '93 3.0. Taking to machine shop today for
resurface. I was looking at the lifters and can't figure out how to get them
apart to look at or measure shims. This type of lifter set-up is totally new to
me.

there's a bucket on top of the valve and spring and the shim sets on top of that.
you might want to check this out:

Thanks. I couldn't get the shim out of the bucket, maybe oil holding it. Didn't won't to
get too violent with it. Will try to seperate tonight. Yes,I did lay them out in order.

Yes, they can be a bit of a bugger to seperate, but they do come apart.

Messed with the lifters abit and got the shim out. They can " be a bugger ". Now that I
see how it works, valve adjustment should be easy - just time consuming.
