3.0 Hard to start when cold
Hello everyone.Question???
I have a 88 toy trruck with the v-6. It runs good except when you start it in the mornings or when it has been sitting awhile. It will fire and run for a few seconds and stall. It will do this several times before it will finally stay running. The first several starts are always rough running until the high speed idle kicks in.
I hope this makes sense to someone. Is there a sensor or something on the 3.0 to cause this. I read abiut a cold start something on the 4cyl. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
Joe

There is a cold start injector that puts a little extra fuel in on cold starts, that would be a good place to start checking.
Do the Mods a favor and delete all those duplicate threads.

You can see the CS injector on my old 93 3.slo in this pic:
It is just back and up from that gold colored bracket. It has the wires plugged into the top and the fuel line banjo bolt going in from the side, and is bolted to the manifold.
I'd start just looking to see if it is even plugged in, other than that you'll have to look at the FSM for test proceedures. This 93 FSM should be similar to your truck: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...fsm/index.html
Here's the correct page:http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...88coldstar.pdf
