3.0 engine wont start cranks but no spark
I just got a 1990 toyota sr5 pickup cuz i loved my old one
I drove it to school one day went to leave couple hours later and no spark plenty of crank no spark...pluged the the TE1 to the E1 on the DLC1 got a code 12
DIGNOSIS no NE signal is input to the EMC for 2 seconds or more after STA turns ON
TROUBLE AREA
. Open or short in NE circut
. Distributor
. Open or short in STA circut
. EMC
What should i try first?

Did you check your ignition coil? Make sure everything is plugged in and all looks good, it's located on the driver side of the engine bay by the air box. If everything looks good unplug the wire that comes out of it into the distributor, on the distributor side. Stick a screw driver or something in it and hold it 1/2 away from something that is not painted on the engine, have someone turn over the car and see if it sparks. Try not to hold the metal part of the screw driver, it doesn't feel to nice :p
That should get you started at least to see if the problem is before, or after the coil.

i have tried that no spark that was my first thought and i know it dont feel nice but thats how ive always done it to see how strong the spark is =) but thank you
and i bought an ignition coil hoping that was my problem still not =(
