3.0 Changing mains in frame
Has anyone changed the mains in the truck? iv got everything down and out and the rear oil seal retainer is in the way of droping the crankshaft bearing cap rail. Any way around this??????

I personally have not done this but don't see why it wouldn't be possible. you would have to remove the transmission so that the flywheel can be remove from the crank(dunno if you are already at this point) then you will have access to the 5 or so 10 mm bolts that hold the rear main seal plate(lack of better words) to the block, the plate will be glued to the block so it will require you to pry the plate off with a screwdriver. You will also have to remove the oil pump oil pan and connecting rod caps before you can remove the main caps to gain access to the mains. good luck
