So as far as I gather the pedal set from an 86-89 4runner won't work and anything up to '88 from a pick up won't work. Other than that, what's compatible? I have a 1994 4Runner and a 5 speed swap is at the top of the list. I see them for anywhere from $200-$600 almost always with the T-case. There is a combo on CL right now I think I can grab for $250 but it's from a 1988 4Runner.... I'm aware of the rear driveshaft etc. Any difference as far as bell housing, flywheel, dust shield, bolts, etc. I should worry about?
Speed sensors etc. I'm not worried about, I drive like an old lady for the most part. I just want the reliability of a 5 speed manual. I've never seen a manual die overnight but I've seen auto transmissions die in their sleep

It will be a slow process, probably over a year but I want to keep this truck for some time and any parts advice is appreciated.

A lot of sensors changed connectors post 92.
You will need 90-95 2nd gen 4 Runner pedals.
