2nd gen Front End Options ?????

I would like to know if any of the newer generation 4runner front ends fit on the 90-95 4runner? Only asking since Ive seen it done with the older model mini trucks. IF it can be done, how difficult is it? I would like to know what lines up pretty good and what part of the conversion needs the most attention. Anyone one that has done it, please give us your input from your experience. And if anyone has pics, please post them

If you mean the diffs/ axles, no. Only a diff from a 1986-1995 will fit.

No Matt, I think he was talkin 'bout the front clip.....fenders...hood....bumper....etc.
And I don't know. All I've seen people do is swap out grills.....

A4runnerfreak is right I would like to know what I can do to enhance the look of 1995 4runner. I seen for the mini trucks that the whole front clip just bolts on, the hood, fenders, grill and all.

So no one has done this to any 2nd gen 4runner?

well i know you can fit the 3rd gen front bumper on a 2nd gen, it doesn't look right but it can be done with minor mods. also a member on here has 3rd gen 4runner headlights/grille/hood on a 90-95 pick-up. i dont remember the name.

84-88/89 pickup and 4Runners stuff is all interchangeable doors and grille parts. 90-95 4 door 4Runner doors won't fit on a 89-95 pickup. The rare 2 door 4Runner models will. All of the 89-95 pickup and 90-91 grille stuff is interchangeable but you may need the headlight bezels, bumper and valance to go together. The 92-95 4Runner grill/headlight assembly will not fit anything else without changing the core support too or beating the heck out of it with a hammer All hoods and fenders are the same except 2x4 and 4x4 are different.

Thats what I am interested in doing. Putting a 3rd gen 4runner front clip onto my 93 4 runner. Whats the difficulty of this?? and what about putting a newer, like a 4th gen front end?? ever been done?

the 1st gen 4Runners were completely derived from the truck.
the 2nd gen 4Runners were derived from the truck but had some subtle differences that made interchanging body parts difficult (some required replacing the underlying body sections)
the 3rd gen 4Runners are, for all intent-and-purpose, a unique design (owing to the full 'unit-body' design of the passenger area) with styling that made them look similar to the truck of the same year
given that, if you're willing to put the work into it, anything is possible.
