2nd Gen 4runner rear window off track

Hey guys, so my 4runners window is off the track in the up position. There's a chance the motor isn't working. When I press the console button to roll the window up, I hear a clicking. When I try to roll the window down nothing happens. Nothing happens when using the key slot is either direction. I took the panel off to look at the motor and the window is indeed off track from the motor-arm. The window is crooked. Is there a way to get the window down so I can open up the tailgate and actually work on it?

I'm not an expert, but I have been into my tailgate lately, working on the latch cables, and it looked like to me that it would be easiest to unbolt the window motor and its gearing mechanism and remove it whole, if the mechanism or the window needed to be messed with.
With the mechanism removed, the window should be able to be lowered.
The FSM no doubt tells exactly what is necessary to disassemble.

Not gonna be fun to do it crouched in the cargo area.

you can get the window down and open the tailgate from inside. take off all the cover panels on teh tailgate. remove the motor. gently push the window down until it clears the channels on the body. you don't need to push it all the way down. then pull the latch cables to open the gate. you may need to disconnect some of the locking mechanisms in the door to get things open. DON'T FORCE IT.

Be aware as well that the most likely cause of the motor not working is an interlock switch failing to close. A likely candidate is the rear wiper not being parked properly. There are also interlocks on the side latches. That won't fix your off-track issue, as that's mechanical, but may explain why the motor doesn't turn on when you hit the switch.
