Just picked up a 1990 sr5 4runner that was missing some pieces and running like garbage. I now have it running smooth, at least for now, and I would like to start getting some of the other things figured out.

Mainly, I am curious if anyone has any DEFINATE information regarding the roof racks of these 4runners. On mine (without sunroof) the rack bars measure a little over 37" and the bars are held in by "knobs" that screw into the channel. Fast forward to last weekend, I source a guy who's got 2 '90 runners with racks. I get over there and look at them and the "knobs" are differant as in they are just "loops" that screw into the rack channle. I went ahead and got them thinking the design just changed a bit, well low and behold, the cross bars are about 36.75" almost a half inch too short for my 1990. Only differance I can come up with is the sunroof on the donor vehicle and mine does not have it, both sr5 ect.

Does anyone know if the sunroof makes the differance in cross bar length? or if it was a year design? my 1990 was made in 10/89 and the donor's were 6/90-9/90 or something like that.

Also, if anyone has the cross bars I need, price shipped for 3 of the center bars to 97504?
