22re won't idle after timing chain help!
Hey everybody, this is my first post so bear with me haha.
This is on a 1987 Toyota 4runner 22re
So I just replaced my timing chain, I also replaced guides, tensioner, timing cover and water pump.
I aligned the dimples on the sprockets with the bright links on the chain.
I put it all back together and installed the distributor to where it's on the #1 spark plug terminal to what I assume is TDC, I aligned the crank to the 0 mark and made sure the bright links were touching the dot on the cam gear.
Is this the correct way? I read some threads that say install it at the 5* crank mark but I saw more about the zero TDC mark.
So I try to start it and it starts right up no problem, but then dies right away, it won't stay idling even if you give it gas. I believe I have the vacuum lines hooked up correct.
When troubleshooting, I found a thick black wire with a yellow stripe that leads to the block near the oil pan that the previous owner must have cut, does anybody know what this leads to?
I tried to download the fsm but my Mac would not let me open it
I also tried searching but I'm just stumped on where to start.
Thanks to anyone who can help!

I would suspect that you aren't getting fuel, is the cable/connector secured properly to the AFM? Also try jumping Fp & B+ in the diagnostics terminal then start it, if it stays running you know what your problem is.

So I just tried that, and nothing. But as I tried that I noticed a bundle of three wires going from the coil pack to somewhere under the intake manifold going over the valve cover and one of them is cut, does anyone know what this is? I'm going to go solder them right now but I have no clue what they are for.
Thanks for the reply!
