22RE Trouble

I have a 93 pickup with about 140K miles. I rolled the truck about a year ago and have been slowly rebuilding with a new body. I have gotten a new body back on and all electrical connections have been reconnected, and the engine starts right up. I am having a problem with losing power as I accelerate. If i accelerate slowly, i can reach to about 3500 rpms, if i mash the gas to accelerate quickly, the rpms dont even reach that high. The truck idles just fine, a little under 1000 rpms. sounds and feels strong until that point is reached where power is lossed. It doesn't sound like any of the cylinders are missing when it loses power, it just sounds and feels as if the engine has been retarded. If anyone can help i would GREATLY appreciate it!
