22re transmission/bellhousing question

hey I have a 90 4runner 4wd standard that had a 22re stock. the guy before me replaced it with a turbo deisel and the motor puked on him. im gonna go back to a 22re i know i have to change the bell housing but my question is will a auutomatic 4wd or a standard 2wd bellhousing work? or does it have to be a standard 4wd?

You can use a 2WD bell housing, if you match transmission types (IE W serires, or G series)

The auto bellhousing will not work
