Cool 22RE Throttle Position Sensor worn out. what now?

hi everyone. looking for someone who has experience with the TPS sensor on a 22re. My Throttle Position Sensor is probably chock full of crud. The sensor is from a different year from the current engine (a 1990). should I search for another sensor through junk yards till i find one that works or it worth it to get something new? any updated new sensor that is a better than the original linear type sensor? Is one replacement sensor much better than others, if so where can I find one? etc. I know as much about this subject as I have read on this link:
http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/TPS/index.shtml
I want to get my sweet 94 yota optimized for fuel efficiency and power. clearly right now, I need to solve the problem of a worn out TPS. I appreciate any interest in sharing your knowledge on the subject!

What makes you think the TPS is causing a problem? You've tested it per 4Crawler's directions and it fails?

tps check

I still need to do the tests with the feeler gauge and ohmmeter. I recently cleaned the intake with seafoam through the egr vacuum line and I suspect that could have wicked contaminant into the pc internals on the sensor. I will in the mean time investigate further with the resistance tests.

only way the seafoam would've got onto the sensor from a vacuum hose is if the throttle shaft bushing is worn. so, not likely the cause of your problem.

Got a TPS for my 88 from Autozone 2 years ago for $79, and they had it on the shelf.
But your mileage may vary (no pun intended).

Tps

Well. if you r sure the tps is your problem, go get a new one. I'm a junk yard dog myself but when I need something related to the to the fuel/smog stuff, I stay away from the bone yards. after all maybe 90% of the cars r there because they fail the smog thing.

Thanks for the "1st" link. I always buy from 1stVW parts. Did not know there was an online brick and mortar dealer for Toyota.
