22re rough idle and acceleration after TPS changed

Hey guys! I'm new to the site here and I have a little bit of a dilemma. I have a 1992 pickup with 74,000 (yes you read that right 74K) on the odometer and for the past few weeks it started to idle rough and sounded like it was going to die but never would. I fiddled with it a bunch and changed some parts but finally I had to take it to a local shop and put it on a computer and they said they thought it might be the throttle position sensor. So they unplugged it and she ran just fine. Once I finally got a TPS in it the next day it started to act up again. My thought it has something to do with the air intake? I was hoping someone on here might of had the same problem or has some advice. Thanks in advance for all the Help!
Heres a pic of my truck just case I'm new haha.

there is a couple of things that would/could cause your problem. i myself have dealt with similar problems a lot. first thing to do, pull your MAF and ohm test it.

http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/AFM/index.shtml

if that ohms out okay i would use the jumper wire to see that your fuel pump is running good, check your circut open relay to. i would be willing to bet the info you need to fix your truck is in that link if none of that works, search through that site there is a TON of great tech and info you wont find anywhere else. good luck

Did you adjust the TPS or just slap it in there?

Did you adjust it via the "book procedure"? Ohmmeter, feeler gauges, etc?

The TPS can be a pain to adjust properly. If it still runs better with it unplugged, chances are it's out of adjustment.
