22RE rebuilding ?

can some one tell me how to or tell me a good link to rebuiling the 22RE. I have done the top half plenty of times but never attempted the bottom end also where is the best place to order Toy eng. rebuild kit's & parts something like a "Dennis Kirk" . Also if I decide my piston/ring's are ok but wanna replace my bearings can I just put STD. bearing's back in? Any help would be greatly hepfull.

I'm kinda interested in a good rebuilding guide as well. I might decide to rebuild the 22RE in my parts truck this winter.

I am ordering engnbldr.com kit call him and talk with him he has olschool values and seems that a handshake to him really means something plus I doubt you can find anyone that can say anything bad about him or his parts.

As for a guide I am trying to get my hands on a Toyota rebuild guide from a friend who is a Toymaster tech I think that would be the best guide plus his personal knowledge.

My 2 cents is that you either do the bottom end or don't. By this I mean piston, rings crank and rod bearings. If you are then I would have the crank reground and undersized bearings put in. The bottom ends in these engines are very good.

If you don't want to do this and just freshen it up then pull the pistons, hone and put new rings in. If the bottom end is not knocking then I would leave it alone. Else do the whole thing.
