22re rebuild parts gathering

So I am gathering parts to rebuild a 22re block I picked up for next to nothing I have tore it down so it is a bare block so far , going to machine shop within the next week or two.
So far I have bought a brand new crank and bearing set , and a brand new timing cover and was looking at the stock head and cam I just pulled off and was thinking about making it a but more then stock so I went and checked out engnbldrs site and e-bay to see what i could get for prices to do a hot rod head set up and ran into this.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...7847&viewitem=

I got in at the last minute literly and won it for $280 plus $40 shipping total $320 and after adding up all the cost to build a head like this with engnbldrs set up (springs oversized valves and machining work $150 to machine to fit the valves plus a cam from him) I think I came out way ahead.

SCORE OF THE WEEK? what do you guy's think?

if the head you won is usable (not saying it isn't... but it is ebay ) sounds like you're coming out well.
Keep us posted.

Oh, and what are you doing for pistons? Re-using the ones from the block or going new?
May look in to bumping the compression to ~9.5:1.

Going to get the engnbldr master rebuild kit may have to see if 9.5.1 is an option from him.
Also would love to find someone in LONGMONT CO. area that could go and check this thing out for me before it gets shipped have the guy's address if anyone could find a few mins to do this for me I would even be willing to send ya a few bucks for gas and your time.

I talked with the seller and he told me he just took it off his truck before he sold it and took the head to a machine shop that he has used a few times there in Longmont and just got it back and that the pictures of it in the post are of it as it sits now from the machine shop.
He also said he has no problem having someone come look at it if I am worried about it so I think he is on the up and up and I got a steal of a deal I guess I or we will find out in about a week when it arrives here.

Sweet Deal man, Nice find!!!! What cam are you going with? I swapped mine out with a 268 now thinking should have went 261 just for a bit more low end but all in all I'm happy.

That's the L.C. Engineering Pro Street cam on it now they claim it will deliver 20 hp as it set's so i think I will be leaving it alone for now and see how it runs when I get it done. I just took my block to the machine shop that rebuilt my friends 68 Hemi motor and the machinist said he may remember a trick or two for the 22 motors and set mine up so that if all calculations are correct it should push right around 150 hp let's hope anyway.

good god... it's like p0rn...

weird though, I see a ring around the top of the head like a valve cover gasket's been on it, but other than that it's spotless is it new or used?

The guy I got it from said he used it for about 3-4k then sold his truck and put the stock cam back on and sent this to the machine shop to make sure every thing was still good he wanted to put it on anther truck but gave up on that project because of his job cutting back on his time and pay to keep him employed.

As for the shag it my mudroom door carpet (hard wood every where else) kind small for making porn but there is a midget woman down the street that looks pretty good hum maybe....... never mind
