22re Rattle on Acceleration

I have an '86 4Runner as a daily driver. I have only been consistently driving it for a few weeks but I have noticed that there is a rattle or tapping every time I accelerate. It stops when I take my foot off the gas even when coasting down a hill with RPMs still high. It is hard to hear unless you are actually in the truck and accelerating.

I took off the valve cover and it looks like the driver's side timing chain guide is definitely broken off about half way down. I know it needs to be replaced and that is in the works but there looks to be enough left to prevent the noise I'm hearing. I've always heard timing chain slap on the cover is head more on deceleration too and the rattle sounds more like it's coming from the back end.

I also found an exhaust leak where the Y attaches to the manifold.

Any ideas of what it could be? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyYo...ature=youtu.be

Exhaust leaks can sound like a rattle or tapping as the gas rapidly exits the leak. However, it sounds more like a valve lifter to me.

Thanks, I'll look into that as well

I put about 2 tablespoons of diesel or ATF fluid in the Plenum. Then I start it up and have some one to block the end of the tail pipe with a rag for a few seconds at a time and the smoke will come out the leaks.

Make sure none of your exhaust hangers have not broken or come undone and letting the pipe slap the flor board or other components. That happened to me last week.
