22RE Idle Surging Fixed.
Hey about a month ago I was on here with a problem with my engine surging. I tried a few different things to fix it (New TPS, Checked the vacuum lines,Coolant sensor,Thermostat, Ignition timing, etc.)
I really couldn't figure out what it was, but I noticed the colder it was outside the worse it was getting.
It turned out to be the IACV coolant holes were clogged. This would probably be a good thing to check for anyone with idle problems similar to mine, since its free. Just take it off and shoot the hose through it (My nozzle had a jet option that fit inside of the hole, which let the pressure build up more). Shoot through both ends and you should have no restricted flow at all. As fast as it comes out the hose is as fast as it should be coming out of the other hole.
I just thought I would post this for anyone searching for fixes to their idle problems since I had a hard time pinpointing what mine was. It's fast and free.

I recently joined doing research on this problem. When it was warm out no problems, now that it's getting colder out my idle would not come down. I did the duct tape test (cover the hole in the TB for the iacv), idled fine. So I replaced it (not cheap) and the trucks idling fine and comes down off high idle quickly. Now I also found some cracked vacuum lines, and a plugged vacuum port in the TB, I also found a ton of junk on the back of the TB and plate. Cleaned everything up, fixed the lines. Now all better. This is a great site with alot of good info, thanks!!

if you fixed your issue that you had posted help for on here, why not updat that thread and put you solution there? It helps others that might have the same problem and does not clutter the forum itself.

I think we had a thread on this earlier, and Corey chimed in as well.
I ended up using graphite in my throttle cable, as well as oiling the throttle hinge over the dashpot.
I've heard of the IACV being cleaned/adjusted...can you run us through it, maybe with some pics of what you did? And do it on the other thread(s) too?

I never started a thread on the subject, found enough info just searching, as recommended. The iacv on 22re's are mechanical and non adjustable, I cleaned the inside of mine but it did not help. I replaced it with the cheapest one I could fine (advanced auto parts). I can post some pic's but it won't be any different than any of the one's I found.
