22re high idle and low idle
I have a 94 with a 22re and when cold it idles at 1500 rpms. it seems unusual but its fine with me because it warms up quicker. once warm it idles low, about 500 rpms which seems unusually low and its a little on the rough side but i dont care.
my issue is the truck often needs throttle to start right up, especially if on an incline (mostly when rear is lower than front).
is this common? is it a problem? i'm not too worried i just want to make sure it isn't indicative of a bigger issue.
also- engine "bounces" a little when idling low (opening hood and looking at it you can see it shaking a bit)...
any input is appreciated.

if i'm really nose up, i have the same problem. an extra crank or two to fire up. i've always assumed the gas is draining back a bit, as the system probably isn't perfectly airtight. someone with more smarts will respond.
with the cam, and slight advance to 8 btdc, my fast idle on really cold days will actually hit 1750 for a very short bit. no biggie, as long as you settle down to 750-800 range hot.
