22RE with good power low and high, sputters in middle

As title states, my '88 truck has good power up till ~2100rpm, loses it, then has it again past ~3500. If you apply full pedal, doesnt seem to really hiccup. Its only under partial acceleration it seems. Things checked, double checked, tripled checked, and replaced by me:
1. Timing is spot on.
2. New plugs, wires.
3. New distributor, cap, rotor.
4. New TPS, ohmed correctly.
5. Tested coil.

I previously had engine codes, took care of them. Motor is from an '89, swapped in by previous owner. Had it in running-ish condition. I've had to go around and finish a decent amount of work left by PO, such as tracking down and taking care of vac lines, miscellaneous plugs and wires, and the such. I am leaning towards an ignition module problem as from what I've researched on here from the last two days, but obviously would like to be absolutely certain before dishing out money for even a used one. I am going to attempt to clean up the plugs and grounds on it for a start but if anyone else has had this problem or very similar I would greatly appreciate some input. If I've left out any details that someone would require to help decipher this, please ask.

No input from anyone?? Am I missing something completely obvious that everyone is ignoring me or everyone is just stumped like myself?

I'm having the same issue, but I don't have an answer.

Hopefully someone will chime in.

i'm about 95% sure that its the ignition module giving me trouble. There literally is nothing else that it can be. Everything else has been checked into three times over. I'm going to clean the contacts up on it and check the wires and plugs coming off of it tomorrow and see if it clears up. Truck runs MUCH better than when I first got it, but I can still feel it has that little bit more to go.

I had the same problem back on my 90 22re truck. It was the VAFM- I determined the problem by swapping a different VAFM from a known good truck and taking it for a drive. But there are about 10 things that can cause the problem you are experiencing.

Cleaning up the module connections seemed to have little or no affect. Also feels slightly warm to the touch. Should I be able to tell the difference in temperature by touch between this and say something else located close by in the engine bay? I understand it could be warm from the the engine heat itself but it seems warmer than it should be.
