22re fuel line size

I'm swapping in a 7mge into my 86 xtra cab and am re-routing the fuel line up the drivers side frame rail. I already had a roll of 5/16" and have cut and bent it into position. The old fuel line was covered in undercoating so I couldn't tell what size it is, but took a piece of scrap and compred the two. It looks like the old line is 1/4" ? Is this correct? Is that 1/16" difference gonna screw me?

Are you sure that you looked at a piece of your suction line or your return line? The original suction line is metric but it's very close to 5/16". The return line on these is a little smaller could be around 1/4", really, it's been 4 years since I built my truck. My 5m_ge works great with a 5/16" so will your 7m-ge. If your gas line is a little bit bigger diameter as long as your fuel pump can maintain the pressure the injectors need, when the injectors fire (open) your are still going to get the correct amount of fuel for the pulse any excess fuel in the rail will go back in your tank by way of the return line. If your gas line is too small your engine is going to be starved for fuel

Yea, the line that I have is jjuussttt slightly larger than the stock line. And if the return line is bigger I don't see that being a problem. I was just hoping that the pump will be able to keep up. I already bent and installed the lines...they look great and were a pain so I didnt/dont want to have to do them again! Lol. Thanks for the input guys! Hadmatt, what tire size and gears are you running? How do you like the 5m? I'm stoked to get this thing running...the motor was fully rebuilt by a family friend that is a finning mechanic and has 40 years under his belt doing motors! Pistons, crank and cams were mint, so it got honed, decked, hks mhg, arp studs, new oil pump, painted the block all pretty like...should run like a champ!
