22RE firing only on 3 cylinders
Ok so i have been trying to figure out why my 22re is only firing on three cylinders. The #2 cylinder was dead. After some diagnosis i figure out its a wiring issue between the ECM and fuel injector #2. Pulled all the wiring apart between the injector and the computer and found that the white wire running into the fuel injector was broke in half. I fixed the wire and then tested the resistance and the voltage on both ends and everything was good. Taped it all back up and put everything back together. Start the truck and now its only running on two cylinders. #2 cylinder STILL doesnt work and now #4 cylinder is dead. The fuel injectors are grounded in pairs at the computer. #2 and #4 are paired together. This leads me to believe thats its a grounding issue. If it is a grounding issue would that mean that the computer might be bad? Or is it possible that is has something to do with the resistor that mounts on the passenger side fender well? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Bryan

It would great if someone could help me here. Does anyone know if there was different part numbers for the resistor from 8/84-88. My part number is 28515-26030. From my research it looks like all 22re's had this part number? Is this correct?

Sounds like you know what the problem is. Your wires are bad for the injectors. All the injectors fire together so just make sure that you have the whites going to the resistor and the blues going to the ECU (or the other way around I forget). You can also check the injectors by swapping the plugs.
I have had the white wires on my 88 do the same thing. They used cheap wire, oh and it is 23 years old
