22re engine stall

i am new to this forum but have heard a lot of help is offered on here.i have a 89 truck with a 22re. just recently it has started to stall or stutter when accelerating. i installed new filter and seem to be getting plenty of gas.it turns over and will start after a few windings.it stalls when mashing gas pedal quickly but will keep running if you let off. thanks for any help,been scratching head alot

Change the fuel filter and see what that does.

timing is good? any check engine light? more specifically, any codes?

I would check the intake plumbing for hidden leaks. Not uncommon for the rubber bellows sections to develop cracks and let in un-metered air, especially when you change throttle setting and that causes the air flow to change and that flexes the rubber and opens up a crack:
