22re Engine Problem
I'm having a problem with my truck after I drive it for a good ways on the highway.
After I drive for awhile and then pull up to a light or stop sign and go to leave the truck hesitates and stumbles and almost stalls out. But if I press on the clutch again its ok but whenever I try to go it stumbles.
I have also noticed that when Im sitting at the light or stop sign at idle the voltage meter is vibrating at about 14-16.
Looked around the site a bit but couldn't find anything so if you know of a thread like mine just post the link please but I would really like to figure out whats going on with my truck.

if it happens only when your on the gas then it's not the fuel cut from the brakes. Which will happen when your idle is too high.
900-1000 although seems kinda high for a stocker. Has it always been like that or has it been like that since you have been having issues?

I would start at your fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor and timing when were they last checked/changed/adjusted?
were you doing any maintenance before this started? ie air filter change, oil change etc etc? You could have bumped something loose in the process. Any check engine lights?

Its always been set at that idle... Well since I've had the truck...
The fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor were changed in the summer, timing was checked then too but I think i'll check it again.
No engine light...
Also going to see if theres any codes later...

So I checked for codes last night and got a 42 which if I remember right is the speed sensor which I know is not working.
But I also noticed that the ground wire from the battery to the truck is also broken off on one side.
This morning the truck started doing the hesitation without me going on the highway which is new. It only started after it got warmed up.
It was the same type of thing when I stop at a light and started to go it stumbles and almost dies.
Aswell new today when I got to work I left the truck running for a bit and after 1 or 2 it stumbled it self to a stall. But I could start it right back up after it stalled it self out.
Would really like to figure out whats going on, and hoping I can get home from work today without it stalling.

yet another bad ground situation... that post-to-body ground needs to be there and be in good shape. go buy a burly cable from napa and see what happens. at least that might have something to do with your fluctuating voltage.

I just finished up with ground issues on my 22re. You should have a ground that goes from the battery to the motor mount, ground from the motor mount to the passenger fender well, positive to the fuse, positive to the starter and charge wire from alternator to same fuse as the positive from the battery. Check them all out. I used all new 4 gauge wire from my local welding shop.
