91 toyota 22re 5 speed. Died while driving down the road like it was out of fuel. Tried to crank on it, it would turn over fine but wouldnt run. temperature outside was above 60. left it over night and came back with lower temps outside rainy day, and it cranked right up, and i trailerd it home. Now ive seen some problems with afm and not sending power to the fuel pump at certain temps or so but? . I am a diesel mechanic and havent worked on many toyotas. Can somebody point me in the right direction on this thing?

Its mostly been cold here and it has ran fine. I travel everyday where the temperature is warmer and the day this happend it felt like a summer day, and the truck started sputtering on me and then on up the road it completely died. I cranked and cranked on it and checked over everything. Then it sat overnight and i went to pick it up and it cranked right up. ?

i had this happen in my 93 it ended up being the fuel pump, the sump was broken within itself causing a blockage for fuel to travel, but the main problem being a broken air bleed off so air would get into the line and then it wouldnt start,
start by checking fuel line for air
start by checking fuel line for air

Ive ran this thing for over an hour a couple times idling, driving keeping it hot. And I cant get it to spit sputter or do anything again. Ill just have to keep a close eye on things

if the coil start to break down it will over heat.when it over heats it will stop working until it cools off. this cycle will continue until it fails completely. if your truck has run for an hour and has not died it probably is not the problem.
