22re cooling problems

I didnt have very good heat at all, Also my other issue was that my radiator hoses had coolant boiling inside before the thermostat and were getting extremely hot, and expanding. So I changed the thermostat only to find out the previous owner broke a bolt in the housing which led to me replacing the lower intake. I put a 180-190 thermostat in with the jiggle valve, now my problem is that according to the guage its just a hair above the cold line. Where as before it was in the middle of cold and hot. Also its 55 degrees out and the vents are blowing cold air. My heater valve is open. Any suggestions?

Also my other issue is that before the thermostat opens at idle my idle surges up and down from about 1,200-900 give or take, this issue has been going on for 9 months+

The stock thermostat is 195 degrees. If the idle is bouncing up and down, try turning the idle down a little.
